There has been a lot of media attention recently focusing on the growing problem of vapes and edibles containing THC in UK schools (1). A recent survey by the Teachers Union NASUWT found that 85% of UK teachers believe that vaping is a problem on school premises (2).
The issue surrounding vapes containing THC is that it is hard for teaching staff to know exactly what is in the vapes being used in school. This problem is even greater with 'edibles' as harmful drugs such as synthetic cannabinoids known as 'Spice' or THC are being hidden in seemingly harmless looking sweets or other food items.
The effects of smoking or eating these THC items can be devastating, with several reports of pupils being hospitalised.
