PTFE Tubing

PTFE is premium tubing due to its outstanding chemical resistance and temperature resilience. It is totally resistant to UV radiation. PTFE is frequently used in harsh environments, such as for the sheathing of delicate equipment in marine settings. It remains moderately flexible even at cryogenic temperatures. This tubing has outstanding chemical and solvent resistance –it is almost inert and therefore suits many laboratory and non-contact medical applications (this is not medical grade tubing).

PTFE is thin-walled translucent tubing, allowing easy visual inspection of the contents. It offers good abrasion resistance due to a low friction surface. PTFE also exhibits ultra-low gas permeability. Electrical resistance is also high in PTFE, making it a popular choice for electrical insulators.

PTFE is not prone to distortion, but can kink relatively easily. This is semi-rigid tubing so is not suitable for use on peristaltic pumps.

The material contains no Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) as classified by the REACH environmental regulation.
